A heat pump is an energy-efficient system that provides both heating and cooling for your home. It works by transferring heat rather than generating it,extracting heat from the outside air (even in cold weather) and moving it indoors in winter, and reversing the process in summer to cool your home.

Heat pumps are significantly more efficient than traditional heating systems because they move heat rather than generate it. They can deliver 3–4 times more energy than they consume in electricity, resulting in lower energy bills and reduced carbon emissions.

Heat Pumps + Installation can range from £7,000 to over £30,000, depending on factors like home size, system complexity, and the type of heat pump chosen. The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) offers grants of up to £7,500, which can significantly reduce the overall cost. To claim the BUS grant, you'll need to check off the following:

• You'll need to own your home.

• You'll need to have an EPC from the past 10 years.
